  1. Provide Pucca Houses: To ensure that every family in rural India who is either houseless or living in substandard kutcha houses gets a proper, durable shelter.

Key Features of Antyodaya Gruha Yojana

  1. Housing Assistance: Beneficiaries of AGJ are entitled to receive Rs. 1.2 lakh to construct a pucca house with a minimum carpet area of 25 square meters. This area must include a hygienic cooking space, excluding the toilet area.
  2. Incentives for Early Completion:
    • Beneficiaries of AGJ, along with other government-funded schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin) and PM-JANMAN, will get an incentive of Rs. 20,000 for completing the house within 4 months, and Rs. 10,000 for completion within 6 months.
  3. Fund Transfer: The funds will be credited directly to the beneficiary’s account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode from the State Nodal Account.
  4. Inclusion of Ongoing Schemes: Ongoing schemes like Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BpGy) will be integrated into the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana, the following categories of households are eligible:

  1. Houseless or Kutcha Households:
    • Beneficiaries of Forest Rights Act, 2006.
    • Households where the main earning member is a Person with Disability (PwD) with a disability of 40% or more.
    • Low-income households that have been excluded from previous rural housing schemes.
  2. Households in Special Situations:
    • Families whose homes have been severely damaged by natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, or fire.
    • Victims of river or sea inundation needing relocation.
    • Families relocated for government projects like highways or irrigation.

Exclusion Criteria

The following households are not eligible for the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana:

  1. Households currently living in pucca houses.
  2. Families with any member working as a regular government employee, or receiving a monthly pension.
  3. Families owning motorized four-wheelers or mechanized agricultural equipment.
  4. Households with non-agricultural businesses registered with the government.
  5. Families earning more than Rs. 15,000 per month.
  6. Families owning 2.5 acres of irrigated land or 5 acres of un-irrigated land.
  7. Families who have already received assistance under any other government housing scheme.

Selection Process for Beneficiaries

  1. District Collector: After Your application, The District Collector or District Magistrate compiles and submits a list of eligible beneficiaries, which is scrutinized before submission to the PR & DW Department.
  2. Approval by Chief Minister: The proposal is then reviewed and approved by the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
  3. Block Development Officer (BDO): Once approved, the BDO will sanction houses for eligible beneficiaries after due procedure.
