3. Hospital Admission for Evaluation:
Costs incurred solely for diagnostic purposes, vitamin supplements, tonics, or non-prescribed treatments are not covered unless they are part of a certified treatment plan.
The Health Department has launched a new IT platform and issued Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) for hospitals.
4. Infertility Treatment:
IVF and other assisted reproductive techniques are not covered unless specifically listed under the National Health Benefit Package.
5. Non-Essential Vaccinations & Immunizations:
Vaccinations not part of national immunization programs are excluded.

7. Persistent Vegetative State (PVS) Cases:
Treatment for patients kept alive only through machines without any physical response is excluded from the scheme.
Why are these treatments excluded?
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) explains that Ayushman Bharat is designed to cover major health conditions that require hospital admission and critical care. By excluding regular, cosmetic, and elective procedures, the scheme ensures lasting and effective benefits for the largest section of the population.
