Odisha Antyodaya Gruha Yojana – The Odisha state government is set to launch the Antyodaya Housing Scheme to ensure that every resident has a permanent house with a proper roof. Under this scheme, at least 2.25 lakh new concrete houses will be distributed within three years. Odisha Antyodaya Gruha Yojana Eligibility
The scheme aims to provide permanent houses to eligible families, including:
- Families affected by natural or man-made disasters
- Families displaced due to various government projects
- Families whose primary breadwinner is differently-abled
- Families recognized as Forest Rights Act beneficiaries
- Families who have not benefitted from previous housing schemes

Odisha Antyodaya Gruha Yojana Launch Date
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will launch the ‘Antyodaya Gruha Yojana’ on March 30 in Kalahandi, aiming to provide housing for the needy. The scheme, with an initial target of 50,000 beneficiaries, includes differently-abled individuals, widows, and disaster-affected families.
Antyodaya Gruha Yojana Benefits – Financial Assistance & Construction Details
Eligible beneficiaries will receive ₹1.20 lakh in financial aid to construct a concrete house covering 25 square meters (excluding the toilet area). The definition of a permanent house has been simplified, and houses with asbestos, tin, or tile roofs will now be considered temporary. Only houses with cement walls and an RCC roof will be classified as permanent under this scheme.
Additionally, the definition of “family” has also been clarified under the scheme, including husband, wife, dependent parents, and children. This allows newly formed families to qualify for the scheme.

Incentives for Early Completion
A total of 2.25 lakh new houses will be sanctioned over the next three years. Beneficiaries who complete house construction within:
- 4 months will receive an incentive of ₹20,000
- 6 months will receive an incentive of ₹10,000
This initiative aims to ensure faster implementation and completion of housing projects.
