PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2024: The central government has started this scheme for the development of the Vishwakarma community, under which more than 140 castes will get benefits. In this scheme, the government will provide loans and various facilities to the people of Vishwakarma community at low interest rates. Eligible candidates can apply online for this scheme.

What is Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana

Friends, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana on 17 September 2023. Under this scheme, various types of training and coaching will be provided to eligible beneficiaries for free. They will be given ₹ 500 per day during the training. Also, an amount of ₹ 15,000 will be given through Account details or DBT mode to buy a tool kit.

Under this scheme, people of Vishwakarma community can get free training and get a loan of up to ₹ 3 lakh at 5% interest to start their own business. This loan is given in two phases: ₹ 1 lakh in the first phase and ₹ 2 lakh in the second phase.

Eligibility Criteria for PM Vishwakarma Scheme

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme aims to support artisans and crafts persons who work with their hands and tools. Here are the eligibility criteria in simple terms:

1. Who Can Apply?

Any artisan or craftsperson involved in one of the 18 traditional family-based trades, working independently in the unorganized sector, is eligible to register under this scheme.

2. Minimum Age Requirement

The applicant must be at least 18 years old on the date of registration.

3. Current Engagement in Trade

The person applying must be actively working in the related trade at the time of registration. Additionally, they must not have taken loans from similar schemes, such as PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, or Mudra, in the past five years.

4. One Member Per Family Rule

Only one individual from a family can register and receive benefits. A ‘family’ in this context includes the husband, wife, and any unmarried children.

5. Exclusion for Government Employees

Government employees and their family members are not eligible to register under this scheme.

These criteria ensure that the scheme helps those most in need of support, while avoiding duplication of benefits.

  • The registration shall be done by seeking applications through Common Service Centres (CSCs). Visit Your Nearest CSC Center and Apply by form. Give your all information to CSC and apply.

  • The beneficiary can apply with the help of the CSCs through Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) or Enumerators or ask your Gram Panchayat for apply
